When you have a Tornado just miss your neighborhood and you go to your basement for safety you realize that just standing in the center of the basement isn't that safe. So we decided that the safest place would be in our stairwell that leads from the outside to the basement. Which has cement walls along with a solid steel interior door and a steel bilco door for the outside. We put the sign on the interior steel door so when you head down to the basement anyone will know where to go instead of standing in the center of the basement. Thank you
